Her path to this conviction began long before law school, with a keen, abiding interest in art that first took root during her years at Miranda House, where she went on to head the Fine Arts Society. It was here, immersed in the world of creators and creative communities, that she first recognised the gap she would spend her career trying to close: the absence of legal literacy among the very people whose imagination drives culture and commerce forward.

That early insight shaped everything that followed. Driven by the belief that creativity deserves the same rigour and protection as any other business asset, Rupali co-founded CALAA Legal to serve as a dedicated legal partner for startups, businesses, and the creative industry - from artists and music labels to fashion houses and collectives.

Her practice is anchored in IP and IT law. Prior to CALAA, she sharpened her craft at law firms, where she built her foundation working across a wide variety of matters and clients, from fashion labels, FMCG brands, and hospitality businesses to listed companies.

She holds an LL.B. from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Philosophy from Miranda House, University of Delhi. Beyond her practice, Rupali is a member of the Young International Council for Commercial Arbitration in the Hague, Netherlands, reflecting her commitment to the global conversation on dispute resolution.

For Rupali, law and art have never been separate pursuits; they are two halves of the same conviction - that creativity, once protected, becomes power.

She co-founded CALAA with the aim of making legal advice more accessible, practical and commercially relevant. The firm works with clients across sectors including technology, consumer brands, fashion, music and the broader creative industries, advising them on both day-to-day legal requirements and larger strategic decisions. Her work focuses on protecting ideas, brands and creative assets, while helping clients structure, commercialise and leverage them as their businesses grow.

An alumna of O.P. Jindal Global University, where she earned her B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), Drsika has developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning intellectual property, brand protection and strategy, media and entertainment law, data privacy and commercial contracts. She advises on ownership and protection strategies, IP audits, trademark and copyright matters, licensing, collaborations, endorsements, content and talent arrangements, commercial negotiations and dispute settlements.

Her approach is rooted in understanding the commercial and creative context behind every legal question. She works closely with clients on brand strategy, rights management, contracts and commercialisation, with the view that legal advice should form part of the broader business strategy rather than operate in isolation. At the core of her practice is a simple belief: good legal advice should do more than manage risk or protect what has already been created - it should help build value around it and support the people and businesses behind it as they grow.
